What Drives People to This Site? October 24. 2007
I have always been curious as to what content attracts the most visitors to this site. For site statistics, I use the free service offered by Google Analytics.
So I decided to find out what has been driving traffic to my blog for the past ten months. Within the period of January 2007 up to October 2007, here are the top ten most visited posts in this blog:
1,099 pageviews
2. Tagalog Trivia in Constantine
626 pageviews
3. Ten Japanese Habits Worth Emulating by Filipinos - Part One

It's Not Just About the Money August 21. 2007
Not every blogger blogs for money.
Sure, we're running some passive ads in this site, but our only goal is to help defray the cost of webhosting. It remains, at best, an experiment. We want to find out if we can derive some amount from ads so that we can have the site "self-maintaining." If we can achieve that, then we're happy. If not, well, it's not like we can't pay for it ourselves, you know? We've been paying for our own webhosting for several years now - way before Google AdSense came into the picture. And with the rate we're going, we're likely to pay for most of it in the years to come.
But as for blogging as a means on which our livelihood depends? Not in this lifetime. Perhaps not ever.

When I Blog, I Think (My 200th Post!) August 3. 2007
Sometime ago I received my very first award since I started blogging. This is the Thinking Blogger Award, courtesy of Gypsy and Dimaks. Thanks a lot, guys. I am truly honored. ![]()
I'm now returning the favor and will now bestow this award on five other people.

Science Blog, Anyone? July 31. 2007
After years of languishing on the Internet, the site is rejuvenated with a new design, new sections, and get this, a blog. Eh? Filipinos blogging about science? You got that right!
I invite you to hop on over to BKR and check out the site. As of now the blog itself has nothing much - but we sure hope that that will change soon enough. And please help spread the word to Filipinos who are into science and technology, research and development, academe or industry, to join us in this new portal. There is so much we can learn from each other. This medium is an excellent place to start spreading and promoting our ideas.
Ipakita ang galing ng Pinoy sa agham!
Finding the Passion to Blog July 26. 2007
As a blogger, have you ever experienced days when there is simply no excitement to blog anymore? Have you ever felt or thought - Enough of this crap. I don't need to do it anymore. It's just a waste of time. Who would want to read my posts anyway?
And to paraphrase the title of one of Richard Feynman's books: Why would anyone care about what I think?
And indeed, on the same vein, why would anyone care what I had for lunch? Why should my life be interesting to others?

Finding Time for Blogging July 2. 2007
Here I am blogging early in the morning. This is a departure from my usual habit, that of blogging either right after dinner, or late at night after everyone else is asleep. Rarely do I blog in the mornings. There just isn't enough time in the morning. Everyone is rushing off to leave the house, myself included.

Blogging about blogging December 1. 2006
So when did I/we start blogging? Well, the truth is that I started blogging as early as 2001, when I became pregnant with Aya. Only at that time, blogging wasn't as hot as it is nowadays. You can still access my pregnancy blogs in our website. We didn't have a domain name then, and we were not even familiar with blogging softwares yet. The original entries were posted at geocities.com - and this was prior to Geocities being acquired by Yahoo! When we finally had our own domain and website hosting sometime in 2004, we created a subdomain for Aya and posted the pregnancy blogs there.
